Rustic stoneware from Hyogo, one of the Six Ancient Kilns with 800 years of history.
Tamba-yaki, also known as Tamba-Tachikui-yaki, is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, produced in Hyogo Prefecture since the late Heian period. Fired in noborigama (climbing kilns), the pottery develops rich natural ash glazes in shades of green, brown, and blue during multi-day firings. Its warm, organic surfaces and sturdy everyday forms have made it a staple of Japanese kitchen and table settings for centuries.
