Hasami-yaki is porcelain produced in the town of Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture, with a history of over 400 years. Originally produced alongside nearby Arita-yaki and often marketed under the Arita name, Hasami has recently established its own identity as a source of affordable, well-designed everyday tableware. Its clean, modern aesthetic and accessible price point have made it enormously popular with contemporary Japanese consumers and designers.
