Made by Japan celebrates Japanese craftsmanship by connecting visitors with artisans, workshops, and traditional craft regions throughout the country. From Wajima lacquerware to Bizen pottery, Nishijin weaving to Echizen knife-making, we document the living traditions that define Japanese craft culture.

Preserving and sharing knowledge about these crafts depends on accurate, up-to-date information. If you are an artisan, a craft organization, or a visitor who has discovered something we should know about, we welcome your input.

What You Can Contact Us About

• Craft Information Corrections: If a workshop has changed its visiting hours, an artisan has relocated their studio, or any other craft listing details are outdated or incorrect, please let us know so we can update our records.
• Workshop and Studio Listings: If you run or know of a craft workshop, artisan studio, or traditional craft experience in Japan that is not yet on our site, we would love to feature it. Please include the name, location, craft type, and whether visitors are accepted.
• Artisan Feature Requests: We regularly highlight artisans and their craft traditions. If you are an artisan or know of one whose work deserves broader recognition, reach out with a brief introduction and we will consider a feature.
